The future of Baltimore starts with your vote: Hear from the top-polling Democratic candidates for mayor as they square off Wednesday night on the WBAL-TV Baltimore mayoral debate. The three Democratic candidates for Baltimore City Council President are also participating in a debate. The debates will be held in the Murphy Fine Arts Center on the campus of Morgan State University on April 17, 2024, and aired at 7 p.m. THIS EVENT IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

However, it is open to the Morgan Community. Faculty, students, and staff are invited to attend to represent the University. Additionally, if you are a faculty member or current student and you are registered to vote in Baltimore City, WBAL-TV will select two questions to ask the candidates during the debate's taping. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO VOTE IN BALTIMORE CITY.

The questions must be submitted in advance to WBAL-TV 11 News Director Tim Tunison. The questions will be reviewed and accepted on a first-come basis. Your question may be one of the two selected to be asked.

WBAL-TV 11's Jason Newton will moderate this critical conversation and discuss the key issues impacting you—families, businesses, and the direction of our city—as part of our political commitment to helping you make an informed decision.

  • The Baltimore City Democratic Mayoral Primary Debate will be filmed at 12:30 PM.
  • The Baltimore Democratic City Council President Debate will be filmed at 2:15 PM.

*** You must be seated in advance of the taping start time.***

The debate is a partnership between WBAL-TV and Maryland Public Television.
