Honoring HBCU Culture, History and Pride

Every year, the US Open hosts HBCU Live, a series of events that pay tribute to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their influence on tennis. For this year's event, Morgan State University's Magnificent Marching Machine marching band will be performing.

Additionally, Morgan President David K. Wilson will participate as a Coin Tosser at the 2026 US Open Tennis Championships, one of the most esteemed and eagerly anticipated sporting events of the year.  President Wilson will toss the coin to signify the start of the first match at Arthur Ashe Stadium, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
