https://engage.freedomforum.org/site/Calendar?id=102141&view=DetailFreedom of speech may be the most widely known and valued First Amendment right, but lots of college students say they are afraid to share their views.
Salon editor, HBO writer and New York Times bestselling Baltimore author D. Watkins isn’t. He wrote the book on speaking up, boldly sharing overlooked or forgotten voices.
Bring your free speech questions to a free town hall with D. Watkins on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Calvin & Tina Tyler Ballroom in the Morgan State University Student Center.
A networking reception follows. Come away feeling empowered to express yourself!
Watkins is the author of several books including, "We Speak for Ourselves," which was Enoch Pratt Free Library’s 2020 One Book Baltimore selection. His newest book, "Black Boy Smile," was released in May. He is also a writer on the HBO mini-series "We Own This City" and hosts the show’s companion podcast.
This program is presented by the Freedom Forum and Morgan State University.
