The Glass Menagerie, by one of America’s finest dramatists, is a memory play by Tennessee Williams that has strong autobiographical elements, featuring characters based on himself, his histrionic mother, and his mentally fragile sister Laura. The play depicts the challenges of a son that longs to escape from his stifling home, where his mother worries about the future prospects of his fragile, shy sister.
