This workshop will familiarize participants with the National Science Foundation (NSF) merit review process, with a particular focus on the two merit review criteria of intellectual merit and broader impacts. While these merit review criteria may appear straightforward, they prove challenging for many PIs.

Drs. Claudia Rankins, Falcon Rankins, and Koren Bedeau have enormous experience with NSF grants designated for HBCUs. In this workshop, the speakers will dive deep into the concepts of intellectual merit and broader impacts and offer strategies for how to develop proposals to fully meet both merit review criteria.  Participants will have ample opportunity to interact with the speakers and ask questions in this workshop.
