DESCRIPTION:Hear Michael Ezban's lecture on Aquaculture Landscapes: Fish Fa
 rms and the Public Realm.\n\nBIO\n\nMichael Ezban is an Assistant Professo
 r in Landscape Architecture and Urban + Environmental Planning at the Univ
 ersity of Virginia School of Architecture. He is a landscape designer\, ar
 chitect\, scholar\, and educator. His work is focused on landscapes and bu
 ildings designed to mediate relations between humans and other animals. Ez
 ban is the author of Aquaculture Landscapes: Fish Farms and the Public Rea
 lm (Routledge\, 2019)\, which explores the landscape architecture of farms
 \, reefs\, parks\, and cities that entwine the lives of fish and humans. H
 is research has been supported in part by the Isabella Stewart Gardner Mus
 eum in Boston\, Massachusetts\, where he served as the 2014 Maeder-York Fa
 mily Fellow in Landscape Studies\, and the Harvard University Graduate Sch
 ool of Design\, which funded his international survey of aquaculture lands
 capes through the Charles Eliot Traveling Fellowship in 2013.\n\nEzban's w
 riting and speculative works on aquaculture landscapes\, equestrian facili
 ties\, waterfowl hunting grounds\, and multispecies entanglements at lands
 cape infrastructure have been published internationally in journals\, incl
 uding Studies in the History of Gardens and Designed Landscapes\, Places\,
  Landscape Architecture Frontiers\, and Scenario Journal\, as well as a va
 riety of books including Third Coast Atlas: Prelude to a Plan (2017)\, Hea
 lthy Stables by Design (2013)\, and Dynamic Patterns (2017). His works on 
 fish and fowl landscapes have been exhibited in national and international
  venues\, including Auburn University (2017)\, the International Architect
 ure Biennale Rotterdam (2014)\, and the Van Alan Institute (2013). He is a
 lso a co-founder of VanderGoot Ezban Studio\, a research-based practice.
