Morgan State University’s Eat Right Club, along with the Food Resource Center(FRC), invites you to participate in their 4 day “SNAP Challenge”, November 15-18, 2020. During these 4 days, participants will create and eat meals on the State of Maryland current SNAP Benefits budget. The total amount to be spent for four days will be $27.68; equating to $6.92 per day. Participants will submit their shopping receipts and photos of each meal eaten during the four days. At the end of the challenge prizes will be awarded to participants based on the following categories: creativity, well balanced meals, staying on budget and meeting all stated requirements.
At the conclusion of the challenge we are inviting all participants to participate in an open forum on November 19th (via the web) to discuss how the challenge impacted them. We want to hear how participants felt during these four days, what challenges they faced and what lessons, if any, were learned. Our primary goal of this challenge is to bring awareness about food insecurity, not only on Morgan’s Campus, but also in the surrounding community.
