About this Event
View mapSeptima is a dynamic and moving play celebrating the life and work of Civil Rights leader and educator Septima P. Clark. Told through monologues, stories, and music, the play honors the moments of Septima’s life that shaped her into one of the most important figures in American history and inspired Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to call her the “Mother of the Movement.”
Septima was written by Morgan State University Associate VP, Dr. Patricia W. Dockery. It is performed by the Pure Theatre company from Charleston, SC. They are able to tour this important work base through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
Tickets are $25--available for in-person purchase at the MFAC ticket office and online at Ticketmaster.com (where service charges will apply).
