About this Event
Cost sharing (matching) for grants refers to the portion of a project's total costs that is not funded by the granting agency but is instead contributed by the recipient organization or a third party. This is a commitment that must be honored and accounted for properly. Even if the commitment is honored, but not properly accounted for and documented, it could result in audit findings.
Please join us for a conversation about the principles and practice of cost sharing. In this presentation, we will discuss:
- The definition of cost sharing
- Different types of cost sharing (mandatory, voluntary committed, voluntary uncommitted)
- Proposal statements that make you committed to cost sharing (and you may not know that)
- Allowable costs for cost sharing
- Proper budgeting for cost sharing
- Proper documentation of cost sharing
- Tools made available through ORA for documenting cost sharing
