Musical Theatre at Morgan State University proudly presents "Once On This Island," written by Lynn Ahrens, Music by Stephen Flaherty, Directed and Choreographed by Dr. Tyrone Stanley.  

"Once On This Island is a vibrant, moving, and mythic musical that blends Caribbean folklore, joyous music, and emotional storytelling into a powerful, show.  

The musical is a lush, Caribbean-inspired folk tale about a young woman who falls in love across a rigid class divide and is testee by the Island's gods in a sweeping, fable-like story.  Her story is told through song, dance and quick-paced dialogue.  The vibrant musical score gives it an energetic, percussive, and sunny sound, even when the story turns bittersweet.
