With music by Henry kieger and lyrics and book by Tom Eyen, DREAMGIRLS follows the triumphant and heartbreaking story of up-and-coming singers Deena, Lorrell, and Effie--otherwise known as 'The Dreamettes.'  They begin their journey as a group of close friends -- sisters--talented, sharp, and ambitious; and along their journey, they become 'The Dreams.'  As it happens in the entertainment industry today, the competitive world of show business begins to warp their art, their relationships, and their friendship.  The quest for sucess begins to overtake their outlooks on life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. 

This play is an homage to the musical greats that rose to fame in the 60's, whose music continues to inspire and sooth our souls today.  We salute the original Dreams--Jennifer Holliday, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Loretta Devine--and all of the orginal cast of the Tony Award winning musical!
