The School of Graduate Studies is excited to announce our latest workshop series, MentorLife. MentorLife will provide professional development opportunities for Morgan State faculty and staff to help enhance the graduate student experience. Our first workshop will take place, virtually, on Tuesday, September 27 from 5-6 pm and will focus on The Role of the Dissertation Chair.
 
Dr. Kevin Bradley, Director of Graduate Professional Development, and Dr. M. Laurel Walsh, capstone chair and academic writer, will be the co-facilitators for this workshop. Dr. Walsh's bio can be found here
 
Below is the tentative agenda for the workshop:
 
  • The role and responsibilities of the chair

  • Building student trust in the iterative process

  • Creating belongingness throughout the capstone development

  • Providing feedback that fosters mentee growth

  • Developing your cultural capacity as a mentor

  • Creating a culture of welcomeness
