Internal controls help keep an organization on course to achieve goals, carry out management directives, reduce surprises, increase the reliability of the information, promote effectiveness and efficiency, safeguard assets, and comply with rules and regulations. Internal control responsibilities are dispersed throughout many levels of management and across many different units. Morgan's control framework consists of written policies and procedures, separation of duties, built-in system controls, monitoring processes, regular internal audits of units and business processes, as well as the control environment established by management.
This training highlights the importance of management’s role in instilling proper internal controls within their processes. In this session, the instructor will explore methods to educate management on their individual responsibilities for control processes and the variance between a control malfunction and control design issues. Participants will be provided with tools to help management better understand their role in internal control and effectively execute their obligations.
We welcome our presenter, Mr. Christopher Mitchell, MBA, CIA, CISA, CCSA, who is a thought leader, has served as a partner of esteemed public accounting firms and has been recognized by the AICPA and other organizations for his Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion contributions to the accounting industry.
