The goal of this panel discussion is to introduce the concept of Community-Based Participatory Health Research (CBPR) and showcase examples from Morgan State University, including the Morgan CARES Network, Community Awards, CEASE, and related initiatives.

The panel features:

    • Dr. Odero-Marah, Professor of Biology, senior investigator, and recipient of CBPR awards.
    • Dr. Kimberly Warren, Professor of Psychology and Director of the Morgan CARES Network.
    • Dr. Payam Sheikhattari, Professor of Public Health and Founding Director of Morgan CARES.
    • Ms. Emma Mitchell, Program Manager of Morgan CARES, who will also serve as moderator.

The panelists will share their knowledge and experience in CBPR and discuss ways investigators from academia can build trusting, sustainable research relationships with communities, as exemplified through their projects. Participants will also have dedicated time to ask questions and engage directly with the panel.
