ELM Mission Statement:
ELM Lab is an academic-community partnership devoted to AI research that advances equity, strengthens individual and collective agency, and fosters the ethically responsible use of large language models (LLMs) for positive social impact.
(This is a consensus statement from ELM members, voted and approved in 2026.)

Our weekly meetings feature expert-led workshops; member reports on projects; working group breakout rooms; and discussions of new LLM technologies, techniques, and controversies.
