Morgan State University Musical Theatre is back to present this compelling, multi-faceted musical -- written and directed by Dr. Tyrone Stanley.  

In a world where wealth, image, and expectation define everyone’s role, Kenya Mugabo seems to have it all—status, privilege, and a future shaped by her family’s real estate empire. But as secrets about her birth mother emerge, Kenya’s polished life starts to unravel, forcing her to question who she really is. Her journey carries her across continents, from Manhattan’s glittering society to the ancestral heartbeat of Africa, where betrayal, inherited trauma, and painful revelations come to the surface. As Kenya uncovers her mother’s legacy, she also realizes she’s carrying a truth of her own—one that could shatter her family’s carefully built empire. With loyalty and legacy colliding, Kenya must choose whether protecting the empire means silencing her own soul. Ultimately, she discovers her voice and learns that true royalty isn’t inherited—it’s awakened.   Experience the talent of MSU Musical Theatre and its ability to tell Kenya's story while showcasing a musical score that includes, romantic melodies, gritty, urban rhythms and World Music showstoppers.
