This hybrid event will include a candid, interactive, open dialogue about the state of the built environment profession regarding women of color, testimonies of experience from a panel of Black women, and statistical data about the overall involvement of people of color. The goal is to address the lack of knowledge within our student cohorts and professional environment about what to expect as a black woman in the profession. We also want to empower them to be strategic and confident about their emergence in the field. Our HBCU must expose our students to Black women in the profession and equip them with mentors to nurture them as they navigate their careers.
