for Theatre Morgan’s production of
Langston Hughes’
BLACK NATIVITY

MUSICAL DIRECTOR: Thaddeus Mitchell CHOREOGRAPHER: Richard C. Keller, III
SYNOPSIS: BLACK NATIVITY by Langston Hughes is an African American telling of the birth of Christ. This production will present a traditional telling of the story as well as an ‘Urban’ presentation relating the ‘Ole’ story to ‘Present’ day issues.
SEEKING:
Singers; Dancers (multiple styles);
Rap/Spoken Word Artists; and ACTORS!!!
AUDITION DATES & TIMES:
Singing Actors: Wednesday, September 18, 2019 @ 6:00 pm
Singing Dancers & Vocalists: Thursday, September 19, 2019 @ 6:00 pm
Call Backs (if needed): Friday, September 20, 2019 @ 6:00 pm
SINGING ACTORS: Prepare a 2-minute Contemporary Monologue & 16 bars of a Seasonal or Contemporary piece.
SINGING DANCERS: Prepare 16 bars of a Seasonal or Contemporary piece
VOCALISTS: Prepare 16 bars of a Seasonal or Contemporary piece
ALL: Come prepared to move and DANCE!
RAPPERS/SPOKEN WORD ARTIST: Please prepare a ‘Rap’ that communicates how the Christmas Story does or does not relate in our/your community – or how the ‘Story’ should relate to our/your community. Rappers who are cast will have their “Rap” as part of the production.
