The American Red Cross invites you to join them in celebrating Morgan State University on Winning the first Annual American Red Cross 16 Day HBCU Challenge!  On September 22nd and 23rd, the American Red Cross is engaging the community to "Close the Sickle Cell Gap" by turning AWARENESS INTO ACTION! You can participate by rolling up your sleeves to save lives this National Sickle Cell Awareness Month!

You can make a difference in the lives of up to 3 patients including a patient with sickle cell disease as well as moms with complicated childbirths, newborns, people fighting cancer, accident or trauma victims being raced to emergency rooms, and many more. *1 in every 13 Black and/or African Americans are born with the sickle cell trait. 1 in every 365 Black or African American babies are born with the actual disease. In addition to learning your blood type, this additional screening will help provide donors an additional health insight during a time when health information has never been more important.
