PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The Morgan State University Board of Regents, as well as its Audit and Institutional Assessment Committee, Academic and Student Affairs Committee, and Finance and Facilities Committee, will hold their next regularly scheduled meetings on Monday, November 3, 2014 on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD, in the Earl S. Richardson Library.  Meetings will take place at the following times:

1.   The Audit and Institutional Assessment Committee will meet in Public Session at 8:30 a.m. in the Fourth Floor Boardroom of the Earl S. Richardson Library.  In the Public Session, the Committee will discuss the following item: The Office of Legislative Audits Report (Issued, October 20, 2014).  Then, the Committee will vote to reconvene in Closed Session. In Closed Session, the Committee will discuss:  1) Office of Legislative Audits Findings; 2) Update on Internal Audits; 3) GESTAR Program update; 4) Title IX Update; and 5) Report from SB & Company.  These items are specifically exempted from public consideration under Section 10-508 (a)(7) and (8) of the Open Meetings Act.

2.   The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet in Public Session at 9:30 a.m. in the Benjamin A. Quarles Seminar Room 119.  At that time, the committee will discuss and/or approve:  1) Performance Accountability Report; and 2) Student Code of Conduct. The Committee will then go into Closed Session to discuss three additional items: 3) the SGA Constitution Resolution, 4) the Unaccompanied Homeless Youth–Tuition Exemption Resolution, and 5) the Honorary Degree Candidates.  The Committee will reconvene in Public Session to receive updates on the following items:  1) Enrollment Update; 2) Update on the December 2014 Graduation; 3) Update from Student Government Association; and 4) Division of Research and Economic Development Updates.

3.   The Finance and Facilities Committee will meet in Public Session at 9:30 a.m. in the Clarence W. Blount Seminar Room 120.  At that time, the committee will discuss: 1) Nondiscrimination Policy; 2) Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Participation, and 3) FY 2016 Operating Budget General Fund Request Update.  The Committee will then go into Closed Session to discuss the Unaccompanied Homeless Youth–Tuition Exemption Resolution.  After the Closed Session, the Committee will reconvene to receive updates on the following items:  1) Institutional Advancement Update; 2) Fall 2014 Enrollment Update; 3) Institutional Student Financial Aid Report; 4) FY 2015 Financial Status Update; 5) Facilities, Design and Construction Management Updates; 6) Research and Economic Development Update and 7) Tuition Waiver Reporting.

4.   The Board of Regents will meet in Public Session at 12:00 noon in the 4th Floor Boardroom of the Earl S. Richardson Library to receive and discuss items listed above from the standing committees, as well as any new business.  Following the Public Session, the Board will convene in Closed Session to consider items specifically exempted from public consideration under Section 10-508 (a)(7) and (8) of the Open Meetings Act.  In Closed Session, the Board will discuss:  1) Coalition Case Update and 2) Litigation updates (a. ULP Litigation Update–AFSCME; b) Mezu VS Morgan State University–Fourth Circuit Appeal; and c) Any other litigation matters); 3) Commencement and other Speakers, 4) Honorary Degree Candidates; 5) Resolutions (SGA Constitution and Unaccompanied Homeless Youth–Tuition Exemption); 6) Title IX Updates, 7) GESTAR Updates; 8) Office of Legislative Audits Findings; and 9) Report from SB & Company.  The Board may reconvene in Public Session at the conclusion of the Closed Session, if necessary.

This eight-week support and training group is based on the principles of cognitive therapy and mindfulness meditation. The structure includes discussion, mutual encouragement, mindfulness practice and homework.

This is a workshop/discussion series for men to look at their goals, relationships, spirituality and anger management. The purpose of the series is personal empowerment and self awareness.
